Dane G Hansen Community Grants

The Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Logan, KS, is partnering with the Phillips County Community Foundation to facilitate grants to improve the quality of life for communities in North Central Kansas.

Applications will be considered for the following projects:

  • Education: Enhance the learning environment and expands opportunities for students. Provides increased self-reliance on personal life skills and the creation of a capable workforce.
  • Health Care: Enhance access to quality health care services or promotes healthy life practices.
  • Community Social services & Security: Enhance access to social services needed for individuals with special needs or supports systems to provide community disaster relief and general community emergencies.
  • Conservation & Environment: Support efforts to improve and maintain high air and water quality, appreciation for our natural environment or enhances economic and social benefits or outdoor resources.
  • Arts & Culture: Provide cultural and artistic opportunities to enhance the quality of life for local residents and/or to encourage tourism and the exchange of ideas.
  • Community Beautification: Support efforts to improve and maintain public spaces to enhance community ride and encourage socialization among residents.

** Preference will be given to applications that come from Phillips County Strategic Doing process and applications that include community involvement and volunteerism.

We do not support grants to:

  • Organizations that discriminate with regard to age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, national origin, religious affiliation, or presence of a disability.
  • Activities or purchases that occur prior to grant decisions
  • Endowments, debt reduction, or general operating expenses in connection with recurring community services
  • Individuals
  • Political activities
  • Religious organizations when funds would be used in whole or in part to further the organization’s religious purposes.
  • Expendable items that are a major portion of a grant’s costs or the focus of a project. 
  • Annual campaigns, events, tickets, and “Match Day” programs.
  • Re-granting programs or service club projects
  • National and statewide organizations that cannot demonstrate a local presence.

All applicants will need to complete a grant application form through the online grant system through the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation.
